Just tying up a loose end from ANNIE FOREVER.
This concludes Act One of AVI & AQUILA. For the next two weeks, there will be newly-restored 1942 strips at the Aquila the Last Eagle Restoration Project on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, starting with the strip after the February 12, 1942 one. The Secret of the Cave looms ever closer.
Regular updates will resume June 3rd, with the start of the first Intermission, which will comprise one 6-page crossover event, one 4-page story about the mayor, and a tale of extreme violence of as yet undetermined length, after which there will be two more weeks of 1942 strips before we launch into Act Two.

"Annie Buys a Melon."
"Hi," Annie says, walking into Crawley's Greens, "I'm... looking for a watermelon? I keep trying and failing to buy one of those."
"Watermelons are out of season," the proprietor responds.
"Oh."
"From your accent, you're from North America, right? Is a watermelon you buy in November ever any good?"
"Hm, I guess not."
"I agree. And I don't sell fruit I don't believe in. Here, try this." A slice of melon, on a plate, freely offered. "It's galia melon. Last good batch of the season."
Annie takes a bite, a big bite. She seems to enjoy it.
"I believe in this fruit," Annie declares, looking at the melon slice in awe.
"So do I," agrees Arthur, proprietor of Crawley's Greens -- who we now recognise is the Green Knight.
