Untitled Mayor Story. A story about the Mayor.

The Mayor is a small, stout man wearing glasses and a pinstripe suit. Purely in terms of visual composition, he's approximately 60% beard. We find him sitting at his desk, on a chair from which his feet don't stand a chance at reaching the floor. His office, backed by a large half-moon window, is nice. It has orange-and-yellow sofas, a globe, and, in the corner, his Hugo Award. On his desk are a computer with a portrait-orientation screen, and a red telephone.
Picking up the phone, the Mayor speaks to his assistant in the other room. "Nynke. Come into my office real quick, will you?"
Reporting immediately, Nynke, a tall, round-facedblonde woman wearing purple, enters, "Mr Mayor, sir."
"You'll know this," the Mayor asks, "how long have I been Mayor of Nox Islia now?"
"Sixteen years, eight months, eleven days, and seven hours. Give or take."
The Mayor pauses, considers this, and then announces jovially, "I resign."
